"Catania una città bella però purtroppo ho trovato tanti posti in costruzione e riproduzione... Sono sicura che nel tempo in fine dei lavori diventa ancora più bella. Sicuramente in futuro tornerò volentieri."

"Really interesting city, to find some hidden secrets and lovely places you have to look twice and go beside the Main Streets. I pass 3 or 4 times the Theatre El Greco without recognising that it is hidden after a normal Building in the Street and how astonishing it is. As most I’d like the Park in the city. It’s a nice contrast and a way to calm and cool down from the heat and the noise of the centre of the city. The Fish Market is also interesting. Don’t forget to have a look on the cemetery. The cemetery is amazing.
As a German, I cannot understand why there is so much trash lying around everywhere. Especially the plastic rubbish, the plastic bottles, cans and glass. Now I like our German deposit system even more. Despite of this we enjoyed the holiday in catania and had a nice stay. "

"Il potenziale della città è purtroppo soffocato dal degrado igienico: l'odore di urina si avverte ad ogni angolo e le alte temperature di questi giorni non fanno che peggiorare la situazione. Il passaggio del lavastrade, per quanto presente, è del tutto insufficiente a garantire la pulizia necessaria. A questo si aggiunge la totale mancanza di senso civico: è stato desolante vedere persino alcuni ristoratori del posto gettare bottigliette di plastica per terra, dimostrando uno scarso rispetto per il decoro della propria città. Catania offre una tradizione gastronomica straordinaria, ma il buon cibo da solo non basta, per essere goduto appieno deve essere accompagnato dalla civiltà, dall'educazione e dal rispetto per l'ambiente circostante."

"It was a good experience to visit Catania. Our visit was two-fold. My wife's great grandfather was a Sicilian immigrant to the US. He sailed from Catania, but was possibly from Syracuse. It was her wish to visit where her family came from. Second, we were celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary as an excuse to travel there. We enjoyed much of the experiences we had in Catania. We had a rental car and the driving experience there was much more stressful than what we were accustomed to. We did experience one instance of being scammed when we were looking for parking. Our experience with the beach through our hotel's ammenities was great. If given the opportunity in the future, we would definitely visit there again."

"Wonderfull city. The point is taht, except the city center, you see a lot of garbage thrown at the streets and corners.
And the pubic transport..... when it comes.... it comes. But there is no rule on this. Even the Alibus for the airport often happends that a bus is not coming."
